Welcome to JDL Express Couriers LLC ("JDL," "we," "us," or "our"). By using our courier services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Service Description
JDL Express Couriers provides professional courier and delivery services, including but not limited to:
- Medical and pharmaceutical delivery services
- Prescription delivery to patients
- Lab specimen and medical supply transport
- Confidential document delivery for professional firms
- Same-day, scheduled, and STAT delivery options
All services are subject to availability and geographic coverage within our service areas (Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties).
2. Client Responsibilities
2.1 For Healthcare Providers and Professional Firms
- Accurate Information: You must provide accurate pickup and delivery addresses, contact information, and package details.
- Package Preparation: Items must be properly packaged, sealed, and labeled according to applicable regulations.
- Authorization: You confirm that you have proper authorization to send items via courier service.
- Compliance: You are responsible for ensuring items comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA for medical deliveries.
- Payment: Payment terms will be established in your service agreement and invoices are due within the agreed timeframe.
2.2 For Patient Deliveries
- Prescriptions: Medications must be already filled and paid for at the pharmacy before delivery can be arranged.
- Availability: A recipient (18+ for controlled substances) must be available at the delivery address to receive the package.
- Accurate Information: You must provide accurate delivery address and contact information.
3. Pricing and Payment
Pricing: Delivery fees are based on distance, service type (same-day, STAT, scheduled), and any special handling requirements (temperature-controlled, etc.). Custom pricing is provided via quote or service agreement.
Payment Terms:
- Business accounts: Net 15 or Net 30 days as agreed in your service contract
- Patient deliveries: Payment collected by pharmacy or upon delivery as arranged
- Late payments may incur a service charge of 1.5% per month (18% APR)
Cancellations: Cancellations made after driver dispatch may incur fees.
4. Delivery Procedures
4.1 Delivery Timeframes
- Same-Day Service: Typically 2-4 hours from pickup request (subject to availability)
- STAT Service: 30-60 minute response time (subject to availability and additional fees)
- Scheduled Routes: As agreed in service contract
Delivery timeframes are estimates and may be affected by traffic, weather, or other circumstances beyond our control.
4.2 Proof of Delivery
We provide signature confirmation, photo documentation, GPS tracking, and timestamps for all deliveries. This serves as proof of delivery completion.
4.3 Undeliverable Items
If a delivery cannot be completed (recipient unavailable, incorrect address, etc.), we will make reasonable attempts to contact the sender and recipient. Additional delivery attempts may incur extra fees.
5. Prohibited Items
JDL Express will NOT transport:
- Illegal substances or contraband
- Hazardous materials not properly documented and approved
- Live animals (except service animals as required by law)
- Weapons or ammunition (unless for authorized law enforcement)
- Currency or negotiable instruments exceeding $500 (unless special arrangements made)
- Items requiring permits or licenses we do not possess
We reserve the right to refuse any package that violates these terms or applicable laws.
6. Liability and Insurance
Important: Please read this section carefully as it limits our liability for losses.
6.1 Maximum Liability
Our maximum liability for loss, damage, or delay of any package is limited to the lesser of:
- The actual value of the item(s), or
- $100 per package
Unless you purchase additional insurance coverage or declare a higher value in advance (additional fees apply).
6.2 Exclusions
We are NOT liable for:
- Delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (weather, traffic, natural disasters, etc.)
- Consequential, indirect, or special damages (lost profits, business interruption, etc.)
- Items improperly packaged by the sender
- Perishable items that spoil due to delays beyond our control
- Acts of God, terrorism, civil unrest, or government action
6.3 Claims
All claims for loss, damage, or delay must be filed in writing within 30 days of the delivery date (or scheduled delivery date for non-deliveries).
7. HIPAA and Confidentiality
For medical deliveries, JDL Express operates as a Business Associate under HIPAA regulations:
- Our team members receive HIPAA training on privacy and security requirements
- We maintain appropriate safeguards to protect Protected Health Information (PHI)
- We do not access, use, or disclose PHI except as necessary to perform delivery services
- Healthcare provider clients may require execution of a Business Associate Agreement (BAA)
For all confidential deliveries (legal, financial, medical), we maintain strict confidentiality and do not disclose package contents or delivery details except to authorized parties.
8. Cancellation and Refunds
Client Cancellations:
- Cancellations before driver dispatch: No charge
- Cancellations after driver dispatch: May incur fees up to 50% of delivery charge
JDL Cancellations: We reserve the right to cancel service for any prohibited items, safety concerns, or violation of these terms. Prepaid amounts will be refunded.
Refunds: Refunds for service failures will be issued to the original payment method within 14 business days of approval.
9. Employment
By applying for a driver position with JDL Express:
- You certify that all information provided is accurate and complete
- You consent to background checks and drug screening
- You understand employment is at-will and may be terminated by either party at any time
- You agree to maintain required licenses, insurance, and vehicle standards
- You will comply with all HIPAA training and confidentiality requirements
10. Privacy
Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using our services, you consent to our privacy practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

- We collect contact and delivery information necessary to perform services
- We do not sell or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes
- We maintain security measures to protect your data
- For medical deliveries, we comply with HIPAA privacy requirements
11. Website Use
By accessing jdlexpresscouriers.com, you agree to:
- Use the website only for lawful purposes
- Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Not transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code
- Not scrape, copy, or reproduce content without permission

12. Dispute Resolution
12.1 Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles.
12.2 Informal Resolution
Before filing any legal action, you agree to contact us at support@jdlexpresscouriers.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
12.3 Jurisdiction
Any legal action arising from these terms must be filed in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
For material changes affecting existing service contracts, we will provide reasonable notice to affected clients.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with any service agreements or quotes you receive, constitute the entire agreement between you and JDL Express Couriers regarding our services.
